David Kim joined Hanwha Philly Shipyard in 2024. Before coming to the shipyard, Mr. Kim led the integration for Hanwha’s acquisition of Philly Shipyard as Executive Vice President of Hanwha Defense USA. Mr. Kim also served as the Chief Financial Officer/Chief Strategy Officer for Hanwha Energy USA Holdings Corp, a renewable energy company. Prior to joining Hanwha, Mr. Kim headed the US West Region for EY’s Operational Transaction Services, held a number of executive roles at HP and LG Electronics (e.g., Corporate Development, Strategy & Planning, Operations), and was a partner at McKinsey & Company with a focus on energy, technology, and operational transformations/turnarounds. Mr. Kim holds bachelor degrees in Chemical Engineering and Economics from Rice University, and received an MBA from The Wharton School with a major in Finance.
