Jong-Woo Cho
SVP, HEAD OF SHIPYARD OPERATIONS
Jong-Woo Cho is an experienced shipbuilding operations leader with deep expertise in production planning, engineering integration, and large-scale project execution. Appointed Head of Shipyard Operations at Hanwha Philly Shipyard, Inc. (HPSI) in 2025, he oversees the Shipyard’s core functions, including Production, Engineering, Procurement, Production Management, HSE, and Quality, to strengthen coordination, enhance productivity, and embed safety excellence throughout all Shipyard operations.
Prior to joining HPSI, Jong-Woo served as Head of Production Management at Hanwha Ocean and previously held several senior roles at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), the predecessor to Hanwha Ocean, including Head of Production Planning and Manager of Assembly and Production Planning teams. He brings more than a decade of leadership experience in optimizing production systems and improving operational throughput across complex shipbuilding programs.
Jong-Woo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from Seoul National University.
